MODERN RIFLES RELEASE FIRST OFFICIAL FULL-LENGTH RECORDING Confirm that they are not a Gun Magazine

SAN DIEGO, CA 12/01/08, 2:00 pm PST

Modern Rifles released a statement today officially confirming the arrival of I was Young, It Was Dark on December 1st. “The release of Modern Rifles’ album marks a historic moment in rock n’ roll,” said some guy that listens primarily to smooth jazz. Pre-orders begin today for the 11-track album produced by Mario Quintero of Black Box Studio and will be available on CD.
“I was Young, It Was Dark is one of the most highly unexpected albums in music history. Longtime fans will be rewarded for their patience and hipness to knowing who the hell Modern Rifles is, while a new generation of fans will be blown away by the sounds coming through their amplified speakers,” said Danny Foster, spokesperson for the group. Drummer Brian Garbark, formerly of Teddy Duchamp’s Army joined forces with guitarist Jonny Fong, bassist Daryl Thompson, and vocalist/guitarist Dan Deaton to deliver a set of songs destined to become inspirational anthems for miscreants everywhere.
I was Young, It Was Dark is being released in two formats: CD and digital downloads.

Good morning,

We received our CDs! DO YOU WANT ONE??? We are paypal certified and don’t have that logo thingy on hand to make it legit (I will load it once I figure out how to do that). You can send 10 dollars to modernrifles (at) hotmail (dot) com with your name address, shoe size and favorite spice or just send 10 dollars for shipping and handling.  Thanks to Alex Devereaux, of Swim Party fame, who made it look kick ass.  Expect a full on MR store front in the near future with CDs, Stickers, T-Shirts, Buttons and possibly Loli’s Hot Sauces. Trust me, the CD just tastes better with a bit of Loli’s Screamin’ dashed on top of it!

Terrin Durfey (1974 - 2008)

Monday, November 17th, 2008 | News | No Comments |

Music is one way that we are able to communicate with others, express feelings, and describe people, places, moments, and ideas, which are otherwise difficult to capture in words alone. Some people say that music is the universal language of humanity. If this is true, then Terrin spoke it fluently and eloquently. Those of us that knew him personally are lucky, and those of us that knew him through the music that he played are forever blessed. Terrin’s life on this earth ended, but what he created is eternal.

Any donations for the family can be made through their paypal on the website:
